Meg has enjoyed massage from a young age and because of this decided to study massage at the New Zealand College of Massage (Wellington Campus). She chose massage as a career so that she could follow her passion, and since taking on her professional role, has discovered how empowering and exciting her work can be.
“I find my work intellectually, physically and emotionally rewarding and stimulating. I like to build relationships with people and I find it satisfying to aid in creating change for people." Meg has a particular interest in helping her clients manage chronic conditions.
Taking the time to study for multiple qualifications has influenced Meg’s view of how her patients can benefit from massage.
“I have a more holistic view of health, systems if the body and people in general since studying. I have a better understanding of what kind of support people need, even just in regards to stress.”
The majority of Meg’s work is done with patients who are experiencing persistent pain and/or stress. Together they work towards the client’s goals, which vary from pain relief to improved range of motion, increased body awareness, improved recovery after exercise, and decreased sympathetic nervous system activity.
What Meg says: “The most meaningful thing for me that people comment on is how their quality of life has improved. This is very validating for me in my work.”
What Meg’s clients say: “Thank you!”
